I haven't written anything about being an Ultranet Lead User at my school. For those who have no idea what the Ultranet is in DEECD schools in Victoria, go here first. http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/directions/ultranet/default.htm
There is a great range of DEECD developed resources to assist Ultranet implementation in schools with teachers, students and parents.
What I have spent time developing are three after school modules [each of 60 -90 minutes duration]. I have used screencasts extensively [SnapzProX] in each module. There are 26 screencasts all up
Below is the course outline and some examples [low res] of wiki screecasts in module 3. While a lot of work screen casts have a lot of advantages
1. They can be linked to webpages on an Intranet
2. They can burnt to a CD_ROM
3. They are self paced
4. They can be revisited at a later stage
Introduction to working on the Ultranet - Module 1
Purpose of Activity: Understand the basics of the Ultranet
1. Login to the Ultranet and familiarise yourself with your Home Space
2. Writing on your wall and filling in your Profile
3. Setting up your Profile
4. Start writing a Blog entry
5. Find and request some Learning Contacts
Task One
• Play the Training Screencast: Login and Home Space
• Login yourself
• Explore the page including the toolbar
• Go to the Action "finger" in the dock> Add some applications e.g People > Learning Contacts and Tools > Calendar
• Change the layout
Task Two
• Play the Training Screencast: eXpress Space- Wall and Profile
• Go to eXpress Space > Click on eXpress
• Write on your wall
• Click on eXpress > Click on Profile > Add to your Profile
Task Three
• Play the Training Screencast: eXpress Space- Portfolio
• Go to eXpress Space > Click on Portfolio
• Go to the Action "finger" in the dock> Add an Application > Collaboration > Add a Wiki
• Add some text to your portfolio
• Publish your Portfolio
• Go to details > Advanced Actions > Permissions. Complete Permissions as per screencast
Task Four
• Play the Training Screencast: eXpress Space - Blogs
• Go to the xPress tab of your eXpress Space
• Go to the "finger"in the dock > Add an Application > Collaboration > Add a Blog
• Add a blog entry
• Publish your blog
Task Five
• Play the Training Screencast: eXpress Space - Learning Contacts
• Go back to your homepage [Click on the Ultranet logo on the bottom left of a Ultranet Space]
• Go to the Action "finger"in the dock> Add an Application > People > Add Learning Contacts [if you didn't do this in Task One]
• Go to the "gears" in the dock> Find People
• Search for a colleague in your PLT > Request that they become your Learning Contact

• Add a category [A big question - use my example if you wish]
• Add a thread [A sub question use, my example if you wish]
• Reply to that thread

• Use the search window of the Add Application window to find the Image Gallery Application. Add it to your eXpress space
• Create a folder in your Image Gallery
• Search for an image from Search All Images. Select one or
• Search for an image from Upload Image [from your own computer]. Select one
• Agree to the Copyright Conditions and Check In
• Upload this image
• Repeat this process, so that you have at least two images in your folder
